"The Princess and the Pea" is a famous fairy tale that tells the story of a prince in search of a true princess to marry. The tale revolves around a test devised by the queen to determine whether a particular princess is genuine.

In the story, the prince wants to marry a princess but is having difficulty finding one who meets his high standards. One stormy night, a young woman arrives at the castle, claiming to be a princess. She seeks shelter from the rain and seeks a place to stay.

To determine if the girl is truly a princess, the queen devises a plan. She places a single pea on the bed in which the princess will sleep, and then piles multiple mattresses on top. If the girl feels the discomfort of the pea through the numerous mattresses and cannot sleep, she will be deemed a true princess.

That night, the princess struggles to sleep due to the discomfort caused by the pea. In the morning, the queen and prince are convinced that she is indeed a real princess, as only someone with exceptional sensitivity could have felt the pea.

Impressed by her sensitivity, the prince marries the princess, and they live happily ever after.

"The Princess and the Pea" emphasizes the idea that true royalty is marked not by external appearances or wealth but by the presence of certain inner qualities, such as sensitivity and refinement. It is a tale that highlights the importance of recognizing and valuing true character over superficial traits.
